    Didn’t I answer this already? The difference is only in the medium used. BOTH are a form of religious art. The subject matter is the SAME, it is only how the subject is portrayed that is different. Remember one thing, at the time, MOST people could not read, so art was a very important facet of the church in teaching.

    In some respect I would think so. They both share a characteristic of luminosity. The play of light on the mosaic surface and light transmitted through the glass, both contributing to an effect on a building’s interior. Not meaning to diminish their religious purpose here,but they both served to adorn the space with color and light reflected and transmitted adding to the over-all sense of a "divine light". Both serving the same purpose but using two different mediums/ technologies relative to their time.
