    You can, but if you have problems with the bottom layer lifting, it will effect your top layer. You may need to trim doors etc…, to get them to open over new tile.

    Removing ceramic tile, is not hard thing to do. It might be tiring, but doesnt take long. You can rent hand tools that will make quick work of a tiled floor.

    It really is best to get rid the original tile.

    You could but it is not a good idea to do it. You will only create more problems for yourself if you do not take up the old tile. It is not that difficult to remove the old tiles. All you need is a hammer & chisel or screwdriver.

    No, you have to remove all of the tile & grout with a special tool before you can retile.

    simple answer is yes, but you should make sure that they are all sound and firm before laying new tiles.

    Ceramic tile can be laid directly over an existing tile floor, as long as the existing floor is sound. Clean to remove soap scum and other residue. Rinse well and let the floor dry before installing tiles.
