Help with kitchen cabinets color?

I have 80’s oak kitchen cabinets and want to paint them since money is tight. The tile is a vanilla cream w/ beige leaves. The corian counter top is also a cream color. Floor tile different colors grey & terracotta’s slate look. I know definately not to paint the cabinets white since it will not look good with the tile/counter tops. I was thinking black but my mom said it would darken the kitchen. I have stainless steal appliances. I thought the black would look good against the stainless steal but I don’t want to darken. Help with color???

    1. You should go for chocolate brown…or if you want to really make the room pop a cherry red…
best advice DON’T paint them a cream or pastel color because it will make your kitchen look dead!!!! and believe me you dont want that…
forest green would also go perfect…it would give it a relaxing feeling…

    2. you could do one of the terracottas but in a lighter color. or you could do the vanilla color. you don’t want to do anything too dark or the room will look smaller. the stainless steal would look good with the terracotta colors. thats what color my kitchen cabinets with stainless and looks very nice with a little hint of modern. but what ever you do just make sure not to use all of the same color or the room will look cluttered
      – I hope I helped! .

    3. You could try a gray color. With the counters and tile being light in color gray cabinets wouldn’t darken it up too much. Or maybe a beige color. It would help to see pictures.
