Is this a high traffic area? Are you familiar with this flooring? I ask this, because black is pretty to look at when shiny and clean, but can really look dusty quick.

With the gorgeous sky light and neutral boulders in your fireplace already in place. A honey oak dining room suit is
begging you for all these tones in it. There's slate laminate, plus the laminate wood flooring that warms a room up like no other.

If you room is really large. Consider using the one of the wonderful saddle tan colors out this year, if your room needs warming up, too.

Smaller room, match your wall color to one of the lighter colors in your boulders.

Assuming you have clear skylights:
Think of morning light and evening light. Which makes you feel happier? Which reflects your personality? Now, which light comes in the most? North and South or East and West? These two wonderfully different types of light gives you an array of colors to choose from without any help from anyone, but yourself. Just write down what you see when the sun comes up, 12:00 Noon, as the sun begins to go down you have an array of all different types of lights and colors to choose from.

It's your home you live there and it's you who has to feel good in it, as we like to feel in our own skin. Paint from your heart's eye and enjoy.

Good luck and blessings<><):

I like the idea of black slate flooring - very dramatic - and that's a great look for the dining room.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a medium blue like "storm cloud" (# 6249) would add to the drama, and make the highlight the fireplace & dining set.

You can also take a photo of your room & upload it to the makeover gallery on Roomvues dot com:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

you might want to reconsider the black floor. The black color wil show every particle of dust and dirt. Consider an earth tone.
