one time completely paneled with knotty pine. He has been doing son renovating and removed two of the paneled walls and replaced them with sheet-rock. He would ike to leave two paneled walls and paint them the same color as the sheet-rock walls. Question: Because this is a basement I want it to be light and bright. His furniture is dark blue leather. I was thinking of painting the walls white. There are 2 full size windows in the room. Would you agree or do you have another suggestion? Also, kitchen, natural slate tiled floor in charcoals grey with green and red accents. Walls are divided with a chair rail. One brick accent wall that I don’t want to paint, the red brick complements the red in the tile. Ideas for the walls please, I was thinking about a pewter grey for the lower wall and not sure of a color above the chair rail. Ideas appreciated!

As for the basement, I’d pick something other than white only b/c I lived in apartments for 10 years where I was not allowed to paint & got *really* bored with the white. You can stay light, but maybe a light blue or tan.

Kitchen – how about green above the chair rail, to pick up the green accents in the floor? I recommend playing around with Sherwin Williams Color Visualizer for ideas. At the top of the page, click on "paint an interior" and they you can select a room to try out different color combos. Neat!

grey would b nice.. blue-grey or tan or like u mentioned… grey bttm. w/ mayb a blue-grey top or even a red top to compliment the kitchen. Or even a taupe which they have that would come close to grey coloring.

Then accent the softa w/ pillows of red to compliment the kitchen.
