Hope that helps. I personally love my sight too much to risk it. And if you get something in your eye, you might not be able to work for a while, which is not a good situation.
Any time you work with a material that could chip/splinter and get into the eyes you should wear eye protection. Never take your sight for granted – you’ll never realize what you have until it’s gone.
If you want your eyes to last, wear eye protection. Even though we come with two eyes, we don’t really have a spare. If you lose one eye, you also lose depth perception. Go to a good hardware store and take a tile sample with you. Ask them to show you appropriate goggles.
YES! I know it’s a pain but my boss got a piece of metal in his eye from grinding after not wearing eye protection and he ended in hospital 3 times for them to try and find it, then they had to dig it out of his eyeball with a pin! Then about two weeks like, my mate was doing tile cutting and somehow managed to get a small piece in his eye. He did manage to get it out after a few hours, but not a pleasant experience for him! I hate wearing it, especially when I wear glasses anyway, but I certainly make sure I do now.

Yes, definately. If you don’t like to wear goggles over glasses that you already wear you can prescription eyewear made in frames like this: http://www.eyewear2u.com/brand/225/titmus-mpd-smk5915115?type=eyeglasses.

I’d recomend a full flip down face sheild as well . I’ve been cut by flying ceramic pieces while cutting/breaking them.
