stained glass mosiac, anyone in the know?

Date September 1, 2010

I’ve inherited a some very nice stained glass, I have also been saving up tile, ect and want to mosaic the end of my breakfast bar (lol, don’t ask) — the base would be plywood and part drywall, does this matter? What adhesive should I use, and can I work a little at a time rather than all in one sitting?

it does matter what surface you apply to.

it wood or pourous, shellac it first with basic bullseye zinser at home depot, this will prevent the moisture of the glue and grout seaping into the wood and causing damage and possible pop-off of the glass.

as for adhesive i highly recommend Weldbond (again at H.D.)

you can do it in stages- but you will see a major difference in style – so if you want certain elements to be consistent (ie a border, a fish, a whatever) do that in one sitting.

Duh I dunno. But I’d wager it radiates a magically unique aura of love once completed. Hey I need the points :) ~~~~~
