White is the in color. All the electricians I know, stock white in their vans. Ivory looks out of date.

Purely personal opinion. Waste a few dollars and time and try one of each. Home Depot will take anything back within 30 days no questions asked.

It is a good idea to make them disappear by matching them to the surface they are mounted on. You really don’t want them to stand out.
They can be painted to just about any color you want.
In our kitchen, we have some that are covered with wall paper to match the walls. Some white to match the back splash and one that is green to match the paint on the island.

I prefer bright white. I like the square switch and outlet covers. I think it looks a little more contemporary.

Brushed stainless steel will look good as well, as they will probably match your faucet, and it will be a smart look.

Do you have any drawer pulls on your cabinets? I would match to them(silver, black, gold) I love the brushed nickel ones in my kitchen
