It’s like a mosaic of wood kinda, where differant types of wood are cut out into differant shapes and used almost as differant paint colors to form a 2d picture. What is it called at and where can i learn more about how to do it?

I’ve heard it called Intarsia, with the wood being 1/8" thick…and it’s also referred to as Marquetry, but that term is usually associated with thinner veneers.
With the thicker wood, it’s usually cut using a scroll saw…veneers are cut with an exacto, or sometimes a rotary cutter.
Either are glued to a substrate, then clamped until the glue sets.
I’d check out Rockler online, it’s a well known woodworkers site. I’m sure they have books to instruct…and I know they have a diverse selection of veneers.
