What is the best way to clean stainless steel backsplash in kitchen?

Date August 10, 2010

We have just installed a backsplash in our kitchen which is stainless steel subway tile…looks great however need to find the best way to keep it’s shine..used the off the shelf products for stainless steel and it seems to leave a dull cast to the tiles..I have asked contractors and people from Expo and HomeDepot and I get blanked looks as to what to do..any suggestions?

Silver polish is also designed for stainless steel and doesn’t leave a dull finish. Also a product called Stainless Steel Magic is good as well.

I use an SOS pad, rinse VERY well and dry with a soft cloth. Never use a green scrubby on stainless steel, believe it or not, it will scratch it. And that leaves a pretty dull finish. SOS works for me.

Buy Barkeepers Friend and use it with a sponge. Never use a steel wool pad on stainless. It will leave fragments that will rust on the surface.
