Why should eye protection be worn while cutting tiles for a mosaic?

You need to wear eye protection because very small hard sharp bits can fly off and lodge in your eye. That will require a visit to the Dr. or emergency room and result in possible permanent damage to your eye.
Please use the goggles. Cheers.

Because little pieces of glass can get in your eye. I wear eye protection when cutting anything.

Because little shards could go flying.
Or the tile may shatter, sending a LOTTA shards flying!
